Our Mission

At Sweet Life and Farmhouse Wicks, we want to be an uplifting presence in the world. We want to improve your personal well-being so you can spread joy to your family, friends, and neighbors.

The slogan, "Make your Home your Paradise" was inspired many years ago when my husband was gone seasons at a time doing the work of the Lord. I was visiting with a stranger one day and she asked, "How are you doing?" I told her spontaneously that I was lonesome for my husband. She replied, "Make your home a paradise for him to come home to!" I've tried to do just that!

I offer 100% Soy Candles, loose leaf teas, and farmhouse style decor to accent your home. Our home are number one, and they're also a way to share with those who bless us. Life and home decor should not be about comparison. Your home should reflect what you think is beautiful! Light your home with what makes you and your family happy. Accent the happiness in your heart!

Giving Back

"At the end of the day, it's not about what you have, or even what you've accomplished... It's about who you've lifted up, who you've made better. It's about what you've given back."

-Denzel Washington

Throughout life, it has been my mission and joy to rescue, even though sometimes I have not understood all the opportunities available. I don't want to minimize the small doors that have opened where, allowing me to share with the underprivileged.

Recently, while dilly-dallying in town, I googled "places to eat." I saw a coffee house that supported rescued, trafficked women, and decided to check it out. It was a little house marked with a very small sign, and it blended in so well with the neighborhood that I didn't see it and had to turn around. But I walked in bravely for a cup of Joe and some hot oatmeal. I browsed the small gift shop where the women sold their products and picked out a coffee mug. I told them I would pray for them and their mission every time I drank out of the mug.

On further investigation, I found a home where these women heal from trauma and abuse. They make candles there and I have started supporting them by supplying them with soy wax for their candle project. It fits so well into my business and I love to assist them.

God guides us into the perfect opportunities - a simple google search can result in you finding your next calling or a perfect little spot to serve.

How it all Began

Before the fall of 2020, I knew nothing about making candles. It hadn't even been a dream of mine, tho I've enjoyed candles since childhood. I would often clean my room at home and then light every single candle at once! Once I started dabbling with wax and different scents, I became fascinated. I fell in love with the creamy white soy wax and finding scents that worked well with it. Suddenly, I had more candles than I knew what to do with. I started selling at a few local stores and my business exploded. Only I was making candles in my kitchen and we could hardly tell if we were eating wax or food! Then my husband gave me half of his machine shed for my candle production. The front half I turned into a home decor store which has always been a dream of mine.

Ten years before this,  I went through a major depression. I began to understand who God really was during this dark time. I praise Him that He stayed beside me, comforting me yet pushing me towards higher ground. Today I am here because of God's amazing grace. He gets the credit for all this and more. He is the one who blesses me with strength. I want him to bless each candle I made and use them to light the lives of others - one light at a time. More than anything I want God's light to shine to every part of the earth. What he has done for me, he will gladly do for others as well.
